Mr. Montalbo was a native of Brownwood, Texas and had lived in Modesto for 30 years. He previously lived in Patterson from 1965 to 1974 before moving to Modesto. He was a self employed carpenter for 40 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Modesto. He enjoyed traveling, wood working and Tejano music.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Montalbo of Modesto; children, Moses Montalbo Jr., Gabriel Montalbo, Dora Ybarra, Delia Montalbo, Dianna Montalbo, Wilma Montalbo, Veronica Sanchez and Monica Montalbo all of Modesto; brothers, Antonio Montalbo of Riverbank; Ralph Montalbo of Phoenix, AZ; and Joe Montalbo of Modesto; sisters, Josephine Solis of Patterson; Dominga Alvarez of Modesto; Angelita Hernandez of Texas; Isabel Rodriguez and Mary Montalbo both of Stockton; 39 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Rafael & Angelita Montalbo, brothers David Montalbo, 1976 and Willie Montalbo, 1994 and sister, San Juana Montalbo, 2002.
The Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 3rd at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Patterson. The Mass Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 4th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. Burial will follow at Patterson District Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Chapel.

He was the great-great-grandson of Manuel Montalbo who was in "The Storming of San Antonio"
